Coleen Nolan ‘regrets’ sharing cancer news on Loose Women as sister Maureen left in shock | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

The Nolans band member Maureen Nolan only learned of her sister Coleen’s carcinoma diagnosis last month, after the presenter shared her health news in an episode of Loose Women.

Maureen, 69, admitted she was left in shock after finding out about Coleen’s skin cancer when friends messaged her after the show aired on ITV.

“I didn’t see her announce the news on the show, so suddenly I’m getting all these messages saying, ‘Sorry to hear the news about Coleen’,” the singer divulged to The Mirror.

Maureen, whose family has been tragically impacted by cancer for almost 20 years, promptly picked up the phone to ask her younger sister for further information.

Following their conversation, Maureen believes Coleen, 58, now “regrets” her decision to break the news on the ITV show.

She recalled: “I was so shocked – I immediately phoned her and asked what had happened.

“I think she now regrets sharing the news on Loose Women.”

Coleen went on to admit she hadn’t wanted to inform her sisters about her diagnosis initially, as she felt it seemed like “nothing” in comparison to what some of them had dealt with.

However, Maureen was the first person to raise concerns about a “bit of skin” on Coleen’s neck months earlier.

“I remember seeing the mark on her neck some time ago and I told her to have it checked, which eventually she did,” the star explained.

She added: “I remember seeing the mark on her neck some time ago and I told her to have it checked, which eventually she did.

“But she’s using a chemo cream, so it should get better.”

Coleen has now become the fourth of Maureen’s siblings to have been diagnosed with cancer.

Singer and actress Bernie Nolan died at the age of 52 a decade ago, after battling breast cancer for three years.

Maureen’s eldest sister, Anne, 72, was diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time three years ago.

Anne is now cancer-free, but Linda Nolan, 64, has recently been informed the disease has spread to her brain, after being diagnosed with both breast and liver cancer.
