Effortless cleaning hack to remove stains from plastic containers – ‘best hack ever’
If you have a collection of stained plastic tubs, you may find that no matter how hard you scrub, the orange hue remains.
Fear not, there is an easy cleaning hack that can prevent the stains once and for all.
A British woman has come up with the “best hack ever” that she shared on her TikTok.
Ayni revealed the hack alongside the audio clip: “Show me the life hack that you randomly saw one day that is now an unconscious standard practice in your life.”
In the video clip, Anyi showed a container that she had just eaten out of, which was covered in grease.
Placing a sheet of kitchen roll in the container, Ayni squirted four dollops of washing-up liquid in the container and filled it up with warm water.
Anyi then secured the container with its lid and gave it a good shake to foam up the washing-up liquid.
Then, emptying out the mixture, Anyi rinsed the remaining suds out with water.
Anyi said all it needs is a “quick wash and rinse, and it’s done – no orange stains”.
Putting the clear container up to the screen, Anyi proved her hack works. There is a caveat, however, as this only works as a preventative tool.
Thus, any stained containers you already have in your cupboard may need to go.
One user commented: “I love this and do this all the time.” Another wrote: “It’s insane how well this work.”
Not everybody was a fan of the cleaning hack, though, as one user condemned the use of plastic containers.
“Don’t understand why people still use plastic Tupperware for hot food,” one TikTok user said.
“Microwaving that is not healthy for [you in the] long-term. Glass containers should be used.”
Glass containers have a non-porous surface which means they are easy to clean.
