The royal commentator took aim at the royal couple and accused them of having a history of revealing intimate details about the Royal Family, citing their interview with Oprah Winfrey, their Netflix docuseries “Harry & Meghan” and Harry’s tell-all memoir, Spare.
“While Buckingham Palace officials have adamantly refused to disclose any details of King Charles’s private birthday celebrations ‘sources’ with knowledge of Harry’s intentions briefed the BBC that he would telephone his father on his birthday,” he wrote, adding:
“Then The Daily Telegraph, which is one of the few British newspapers to be spoken of favourably by Harry, managed to obtain details of the phone conversation between His Majesty and his younger son.”
Eden stated that while it’s a good thing Charles’s relationship with Harry seems to be improving, “it’s clear that Harry and Meghan are not welcome at family events”.
He also suggested the rift between the two sides is unlikely to be eased soon.
Meanwhile, sources told Express.co.uk that the reported call between the two royals may not have even taken place as the King’s busy diary got in the way.
They revealed that the story that Harry was going to make the call to the Palace originally came from people linked to the Sussex camp in an attempt to mop up the fallout from not being invited to the King’s 75th birthday celebrations.
