ICC ODI Rankings: ICC ODI Rankings: Shuhbman Gill snatches top spot from Babar Azam, Siraj reclaims bowling crown
24-year-old Shubhman Gill has risen to No. 1 on the rankings, dethroning Pakistan’s Babar Azam – who has been having an abysmal tournament – and becoming only the fourth Indian to hold the top spot, following in the footsteps of Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli.
Pakistan’s skipper Azam has, so far, amassed 282 runs from eight knocks in the World Cup, falling six rating points behind Gill into second place ending his two-year plus reign as the world’s top ODI batter.
The record-breaking Kohli, on the other hand, has risen to the fourth spot in the rankings after amassing 543 runs in the World Cup, with two centuries to his name, the second of which brought him level with Tendulkar’s 49 ODI tons.
