Man Utd star Bruno Fernandes gives Gary Lineker ‘a b**er’ as MOTD host causes a stir | Football | Sport

Gary Lineker joked that Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes gave him an erection courtesy of a sublime piece of skill during the Red Devils’ Premier League showdown with Tottenham on Saturday. United travelled to north London in search of a second win in six days after getting their top-flight campaign off to a winning start against Wolves on Monday evening.

Fernandes, who started 37 Premier League matches last season, was once again named in United’s line-up for the trip to Spurs. And he tried to get his side moving in the right direction as he began the game positioned behind frontman Marcus Rashford.

Fernandes has been known to tantalise defenders with his footwork and creativity. And midway through the first half at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he pulled out an incredible rabona pass to deliver a perfect cross onto the head of Rashford, who found himself unmarked on the edge of the six-yard box.

Rashford ultimately missed the opportunity to put United in front as he headed the ball over the crossbar, despite having the goal at his mercy. But Fernandes’ fine skill didn’t evade the attentions of Lineker as the ex-England striker took to X (formerly Twitter) to write: “That rabona from Bruno was so good it gave me a b**er….which is quite something at my age.”

The post from the Match of the Day host caused quite a stir online, with an array of followers appearing to be taken aback by what they had read. YouTuber KSI replied by saying: “You gotta be hacked.” And Lineker responded: “Nah, I just wish it was true.”

Lineker enjoyed an incredible career on the football pitch and excelled during spells with Leicester, Everton, Tottenham and Barcelona. The former striker bagged 48 goals in 80 appearances for England and won the Golden Boot at the 1986 World Cup after scoring six goals at the tournament. He went on to help the Three Lions reach the World Cup semi-finals in 1990.

Four-and-a-half years ago, Lineker hit out at Twitter after the platform featured scam stories about him promoting a cure for erectile dysfunction. According to The Mirror, the 62-year-old said the stories were “obvious bull****.”

Meanwhile, in 2021, the Match of the Day presenter admitted he “can’t be a****” to have sex anymore. “When you get a bit older, that urge fades, your testosterone levels drop,” he told The Sun. “It’s just not that important.

“I like the fun of flirting, going on dates, kissing and cooking for someone, but that’s about as far as I want to take it. I’m not sure I’m asexual as such – no matter how old you are, a beautiful woman is a beautiful woman – but I just genuinely can’t be a**ed now.”
